Here at High Pointe, we want parents to feel comfortable dropping their children off into the care of others. We work hard to maintain fun, safe and secure environments to ensure you can enjoy 60 minutes of uninterrupted time worshiping our risen Savior and enjoying fellowship with others.
Infant Room: Newborns to Walkers
You’ll find baby-loving volunteers, rocking chairs, playmats, activity tables, Bumbos, and age appropriate toys to keep your child entertained.
Toddler Room: One & Two Year Olds
(1 year olds need to be strong walkers before transitioning to this.)
You’ll find friendly volunteers, rocking chairs, tents & tunnels, a Veggie Tales movie, and age appropriate toys to keep your child busy.
THREE’S ROOM: THREE YEAR OLDS
Three year olds will have structured play, songs, games, a snack and a short Bible-based lesson. Children who turn 4 years old while in this room will stay in this room until Transition Weekend in early September. At that time, all 4 year olds will transition to the Preschool-Kindergarten Room.
PRESCHOOL & KINDERGARTEN ROOM
This environment is designed for children who have turned 4 years old on or before our Transition Weekend (early September) and Kindergartners. After checking in at the Check-Ins table to get a name tag, the children will go to the service with their family for a portion of worship time. During announcements, they will be dismissed to their teacher, and they will return at the end of service. This group will have an academic focus and memorize Bible verses, learn more about Bible stories, play games and do crafts.
(Grades 1st – 5th)
Children’s Church is dismissed during Sunday morning announcements. Children’s Church has a Bible lesson, music, memory verse, and the kids have a chance to celebrate their birthday. They’re given a worksheet from the lesson to do at home and return the next week for a prize.
Children’s Church is currently on a break for the summer.
All children entering theInfant Room, Toddler Room, Three’s Room, and Preschool-Kindergarten Room must be checked in electronically at the Child Check-In table. At the Child Check-In table, you’ll meet friendly volunteers who will get your family entered into our check-in system. You’ll receive a computer-generated name tag for each child that includes a security code printed on it. In addition, each family will receive a parent security label with the child’s matching identification code. Keep track of the parent security label–you’ll need it later on to pick up your child! Electronic check-in begins at 9:40 am and closes at 10:20 am. As long as children have their printed name tags, they can be dropped off at any time, even after 10:20.
SAFETY & SECURITY
Once you’ve checked your children in and everyone has their tags, you’ll be walked to the children’s rooms. A Team Leader will meet you at the classroom door. Only HPC staff & volunteers are allowed inside the classrooms, but feel free to peek your head in and take a look around. When the service is over and it’s pick-up time, Team Leaders are diligent in asking to see the parent security label for each and every child that is picked up. You’ll see lots of our HPC families with their labels stuck on their shirts/pants. Feel free to do the same so you don’t lose it! If you lose your label, it will be necessary for the Team Leader to contact the Nursery Director to verify the release of your child. All children’s ministry volunteers who are 18 years and older have completed a thorough background check.
During the service, you might notice alphanumeric codes popping up on the projection screen–these are children’s security codes. If the code happens to be that of your child, your assistance is needed. This might happen if your child has been crying and inconsolable for an extended period of time, had an accident, or the like. Please go to your child’s room right away.
