The most important thing to know about us, is that we are all about making much of Jesus and proclaiming the Gospel (Good News). Want to know more about that? Click here.
Where to Go
We worship together Sundays, 10AM at Clay Elementary School in Altoona.
Check here for more location info and current sermon series.
We meet in a school, so everything is just a little different. We use the main entrance on the east side of the building. You should see signs for the entrance and parking all over. We have a welcome center just inside the door, and greeters who will give you the weekly church bulletin The bulletin has more information about the morning service, upcoming events, and other tidbits about HPC. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask any of the greeters. They are there to assist you with whatever you need.
If you have children ages five and under we provide a fully-staffed nursery with qualified workers. The nursery will be to your right as you walk in the main doors. You’ll see a table with some workers waiting to check your kids in. We use an electronic system to check your kids in, and id stickers to help identify children and their parents. Plan on showing up 5-10 minutes early if you have kids to check in. If the nursery needs to get ahold of you during the service, the ID number in your sticker will be displayed in the bottom left corner of the projector screen in the main auditorium. For more info, check out our Children’s Ministries page.
Visitor Resource Table
Just inside the main doors we have a visitor resource table. There is a lot of stuff on this table, so take a few minutes to look it over. We have many free resources for you! Also, as a side note, there is a visitor card in the bulletin you were handed at the door. We would love to have you fill it out with your contact info. We’d like to follow up with you, see if you have any prayer requests, or would like to meet the pastor.
Service starts at 10am on the dot. You’ll know we’re getting started when you hear the band! We normally start off with a couple songs, with announcements mixed in. Children’s church kids will be dismissed during announcements to follow the teacher back to the class room. The pastor will take over after the music, and spends about 25-30 minutes preaching. We’ll end with one last worship song, and then dismiss everyone.
After the Service
Feel free to stick around after service for refreshments and conversation. After a few minutes, our tear down crew will start putting away the chairs and sound equipment. Don’t feel obligated to help, but putting up chairs is fair game for everyone!
Hopefully that will give you a good idea of what a Sunday morning is like at High Pointe, but the only way you’ll truly get the experience is if you come and visit. We can’t wait to meet you.
