about us

By God’s grace, High Pointe Church exists to be a gospel-centered church. We believe the gospel is central to God’s mission for the church and for living lives that honor and glorify God.

We believe the Bible makes it clear that the church is God’s “vehicle” for bringing the good news of the gospel to the world and making disciples. On a personal level we feel that ultimately, the answers to all questions of life or death are answered in the gospel.

So what is the gospel?

The gospel means “good news”. The good news is that God sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to die for us so that we would have eternal life now. . When God draws you to His good news, the result is a changed life. . The bible says in  “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”

So with a clear mission to bring the gospel to Altoona, we at High Pointe Church have 3 Keys that motivate us:

  • Unity in the gospel. The love of God is our motivation demonstrated by Jesus on the cross.
  • Service to others. A love for God will produce a love for others
  • Outreach to the ones that need to know Jesus. God commands us to tell others of the “Good News”

The bible says in  “if indeed you continue in the faith, stable, and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard.”

At High Pointe Church we will preach the gospel of Jesus Christ because that is what will change your life today and forever.

Come grow with us and see the great things God will do, through you, for His glory.

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” (ESV)

16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (ESV)

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (ESV)

because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” (ESV)

15:1 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, (ESV)

37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. (ESV)

14 For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; (ESV)

39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (ESV)

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (ESV)

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (ESV)

18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. (ESV)

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. (ESV)

23 if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister. (ESV)
